With such a wider variety of goods arriving in our depot for onward delivery, we need to have a wide selection of trucks and vans to cope.
Our “Home Fleet”, as we call it consists of permanently sub-contracted hauliers and owner drivers, some of whom have been a part of the “Toga Family” for over 30 years. As a rule, we cover all of Dublin City & County and parts of all neighbouring counties on a “delivered on day of arrival” basis for all customers. It supports our standard sales offering from the UK which has always been “Next Day Dublin” as standard.
The reality is these days, thanks to an improved road network in Ireland and economies of scale due to our large volumes, we actually deliver to various parts of Ireland on day of arrival as it is more cost effective for us and our customers to consolidate numerous consignments for Cork, Limerick, Galway etc and deliver direct from Dublin.
Our fleet consists of 12 vans and small box body vans, through to 7.5 tonne, 18 tonne and 24 tonne rigid curtainsiders, all with tail-lifts. We also run artic box vans and curtainsiders all over Ireland.
Toga’s location in Dublin 12 situates us in the heart of Dublin’s traditional industrial heartland. From here we have easy access into the City Centre, but also via the N7 trunk road, which is just a few hundred metres away from our gate, we can head south for speedy access to Limerick, Naas, Cork & Waterford.
Travelling times to key areas:
Unusually for Dublin commercial premises, we are fortunate that our site is fully enclosed with security fencing and electronic gates and was freshly resurfaced just a few years ago.
The total site totals almost 8 acres and consists of two warehouses totalling over 60,000 square feet. Our main transit warehouse has five dock levellers, a loading door for vans and a grade access door.
Our secondary warehouse has 2 dock levellers and is fitted with security cages.
We have a dedicated parcel handling area which is racked for manual parcel sortation. We also have an area designated as our Customs ACP bonded area.
We can also load or unload outside and have 6000 square feet of our door area under canopy that is used for various unloading and handling purposes connected to car parts distribution mainly.
The site is protected by a monitored 32 camera CCTV system and all areas of the site are covered. All cargo unloaded, reloaded or moved in our premises is covered by CCTV from numerous angles.
Access to the site is controlled by an electronic security system connected to the office doors and main entrance gates.
All staff sign in and out electronically using individual codes and photo ID checking system.
As with any supply chain operation, it is true to say that “you’re only as good as your weakest link”. We believe this adage is probably our greatest strength.
Toga’s “Private Delivery Network” has been in place and strengthened upon over 30 years. What was originally the delivery network for Nightfreight Ireland, which was wholly owned by Toga, has become one of the most efficient delivery networks in Ireland with very high percentages of delivered OTIF.
Our network of 15 professional hauliers and couriers operate over 300 vehicles, employ over 450 people and provide delivery to every inch of the Island of Ireland for us. We provide delivery to every townland, every high street and every industrial estate – every day. Just the extreme West coast and offshore Islands might cause us to need an extra day or so.
The shared fleet can carry hazardous goods, out of gauge items as well as small parcels. We have tail-lift trucks in every town every day and we don’t charge any extra for tail-lift delivery (Just make it clear on the instructions).
